The Langley Events Centre is a 322,312 ft² multi-purpose sports and recreation facility.

Quantum Lighting, Inc. provided design/build services to add dynamic color change lighting to the building exterior and the ice arena. Lighting controls to integrate seamlessly with the existing ETC Mosaic control system.

Linear high-performance LED luminaires were added to the building perimeter, providing both static and dynamic light shows. Theatrical moving head luminaires were added above the ice surface allowing for lighting special effects to both entertain guests and highlight features during events. The existing lighting control system was expanded to allow full integration and programming of the new lighting systems. Quantum Lighting, Inc. provided design, supply, installation and commissioning services.

The consulting services provided were a multi-phase lighting review and redesign to update the back of the house (BOH), concourse, suites, gymnasiums, and exterior areas to LED lighting. Both wired and wireless control technologies were integrated into the design.

Original fixtures were either replaced with new LED luminaires or retrofitted with T8 LED lamps (BOH). Gymnasium lighting includes new LED high bays and wireless controls to provide dimming, zoning, and occupancy sensor controls. Concourse and suites also have new luminaires and wireless controls which are integrated with the facilities entertainment lighting controls system. Core requirements were to achieve IES/NCAA recommended light levels and uniformity as well as glare reduction in order to host high-level and diverse activities.
